I love Florence's complete ignorance in terms of sexual education. It marks her as a truly sheltered girl. Yet she did walk in on her father's dalliance with Molly, didn't she? It's unfortunate that she has cut herself off from any friends that might have offered some comfort and perhaps a bit of information.

Then again... This will give her new husband a woman that will be molded to his will.

How awful of Jesse to leave the topic of Alex to a later time. He partially deserved it but this return to Dover in order to help him out will, I expect, be rather timely.

What an exit for Walter! I wonder how angry Mary will be. Surely she won't go away without at least some small amount of fight...

Poor Florence, she is so naïve. I can’t imagine going to your wedding night a virgin and have no idea what to expect. It must have been shocking. LOL

So Mary and Jessie look exactly alike. Is Mary the infamous Mary Kelly? It makes me shudder just to think about.

So Vyvyan and Jessie are going to go back and rescue Alex. I get the feeling he will be rather pissy about the whole thing. Lol

I am so looking forward to the next chapter!

Looking forward to the wedding and it seems Alex has better friends than he deserves

OOOOOOh Jessie and Viv are rather good together.
But what gives with Tilly and Molly ?

Author's Response: Molly has got more than she bargained for with Tilly!

You’re really creeping me out Shez. I know exactly who Kate is and it gives me the biggest chill up my spine. I know you know this case like the back of your hand, so I won’t ask you about any possible changes. I am convinced you haven’t tangled with history at all and everything will fit into place. I don’t even want to read about Mary though.
And the creepy Mistletoe Bough was a very nice touch. You definitely have a taste for the macabre.

Anyway, I am delighted to have Jessie back with Vyvyan. Their reunion was sweet and sexy! They both seem to have such an innocent quality about them.

And I think Tilly is quite taken with Molly, yet Molly doesn’t feel the same. Oh well, at least Molly is somewhat safe right now. Despite Tilly’s amorous feelings, she seems rather harmless. I am still very concerned about Molly though.

This was an excellent chapter though, as always. You have an amazing style with this story. You can say so much with a single sentence. I can’t help but feel you are really are in your element here! Bravo!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, this is the kind of story I really love to write; I feel quite at home with the gothic sex/creepy thriller genre. If that is indeed a genre. If not, I shall simply invent it! Heh.

I've been meaning to ask, Shez...have you ever read "From Hell"? It's a graphic novel written by Alan Moore and your story often puts me in mind of that rather gruesome book...I hope yours ends better than Moore's did.

Oh my goodness! Now I have visions of Florence discovering Lord Hunter-Fox's involvement in a Blue Beard kind of scheme...gack! 1 Paragraph and my mind is already reeling... What are they doing to these poor women?! Hm. From the dialogue it sounds as if they might not be killing them (as I suspected) are they performing experimental lobotomies?

Oh. A lovely reunion between Vyvyan and Jessie! And Tilly is getting rather bold, isn't she? Hm. I wonder if Molly will fall for her in the end. I'd be surprised considering the way things stand right now, but it's only a matter of time before the two of them are offered enough coin to tip the scales onto the side of deeper exploration.

Another great chapter. What woudl we do without you Shez?

Author's Response: Yes, I read 'From Hell' a while ago, after a boyfriend who was a wannabe graphic novelist lent it. It's based on a theory that was popular for a while, though that's now been discredited. I mean, it's slightly far-fetched to imagine members of the Royal family being implicated... Makes a good story though. (And a Johnny Depp film, so even less reason to complain there!)rnrnI'd love to explain the heinous goings-on with the gin-soaked prostitutes, but I just can't! Argh!rnrnAs ever, I love your reviews; they are always so thoughtful. Thanks xx

Love the way that Lord HF won't indulge Florence and really does care for her welfare.
There's hope for her yet.
And Molly and Tilly are finding out what sells I see.

Yes, I don’t blame Tilly and Molly at all for putting on a show. I think that would be much more preferable than having to sleep with a bunch of strange men. Molly is becoming quite wise to the way of the street isn’t she? I am very curious though about the man who came looking for Jessie.

The relationship between Lord Hunter-Fox and Florence is so intriguing. Both of them are rather attracted to each other physically, yet they each find each other quite odious too. I am curious to see how they will soften towards each other. It’s definitely a magnetic relationship. LOL

So what kind of crazy thing will Alex do when he gets out of jail. LOL

Anyway, this was a wonderful chapter Shez!

Good for Molly and Tilly! Way to be creative. ;)

I love the way that you wrote Florence and Hunter-Fox's dinner conversation with one speaking in one direction and the other trying his best to skirt the issue. A harsh prognostic from H-F too...had I been Florence he would be sporting a handprint on his cheek right now.

Great chapter. I had written a long-ish review but lost it due to the site logging me out. (Grr.)

Loved that Jesse leaves Alex alone in something that seems to foreshadow the way that things will end for the arrogant boy unless he has a change of attitude.

Also loved Florence thinking that she might teach Hunter-Fox something when we can already anticipate his experience and his control. He will be spanking the princess out of her in no time, won't he?

“’Florence, you have accepted my proposal. You may not now withdraw, unless you wish to answer Breach of Promise proceedings.’”

Yes Lord Hunter-Fox is quite candid isn’t he? LOL
I guess that means Florence is getting married no matter what. I get the feeling she is in for a shock too, if that kiss is any indication.

I was laughing as well about what his lordship said to Rupert. “’I have no intention of ill-treating her, but I do plan to keep her wayward temperament in check. The firm hand you denied her will be applied in full measure.’”

Yes it is obvious that Lord Hunter-Fox will not put up with any of her nonsense. I do believe though, Florence will grow to like it. LOL

Now Alex looks like he might be in trouble, serenading Florence from the balcony like he did. I think he overestimates his charms and underestimates Lord Hunter-Fox. LOL

Lovely chapter Shez!

Alex caught in the act of serenade. Ha! What a bastard he is. Yea for Lord Hunter-Fox.

Ooo, good strategy Lord Hunter-Fox. How could Florence be so narrow in thought? She is completely self-absorbed. If he gets her, he will have his work cut out for him.

Well Alex is a first class pratt isn't he ?

And ooooooh that kiss..Looks like Florence will do alright with Lord HF
