She sent him away! What an idiot. I suppose that is what a woman in her position would do, but not me. Bring him back.

Author's Response: He won't stay away for long - he's quite persistent!

Poor Vyvyan, his love has been swept away by lust. I am not sure whether to believe in Alex's sincerity. And Molly is in a mess.

Author's Response: Alex is not quite all he seems, 'tis true...

“Far superior intellects to yours have proven them genuine dinosaur skeletons.” Well I think Florence sounds more than just a little pompous here doesn’t she? LOL
It’s gets me giggling too, because I know she’s really in for it too when Lord Hunter-Fox’s gets his hands on her.

I get the feeling Alex is going to get Florence into some trouble too. That’s pretty funny that Flossie passed out on him. She reminds of those girls who just screamed and screamed at Beatles concerts, then passed out. It’s so funny! LOL

I cannot wait until the big get together at Lord Hunter-Fox’s residence! It sounds like it is going to be so much fun. I really love this story Shez! Please keep writing!

Author's Response: Ha, Lord Hunter-Fox's stately home is the next chapter! I can't wait to get it all written down actually; it's going to be quite eventful.

Ooooh what a rat. Poor little Molly

Author's Response: Yes, he is a spineless cad!

This was another lovely chapter!

Again you’ve showed us that Sir Rupert is up to no good. Indeed he is quite the cad. I feel sorry for poor Molly.

I loved your description of the roulette table and all the sights and sounds of the casino. I remember once, some friends of mine were living in an old closed-down casino in the ghost town of Victor Colorado. The place had old, red velvet, Victorian wallpaper on the walls and there was a big bar with a giant mirror with gold cupids all around it. It was gaudy, but I liked it. Lol

Anyway, I do get the feeling Alex is a pretty decent guy. I even think he and Molly could become friends now, since they are keeping each other’s secret safe.

Vyvyan on the other hand, sounds like he was quite shaken with seeing Jessie in such a compromising position. I get the feeling this could hurt their easygoing relationship.

Anywho, excellent writing Shez, as always! :D

Author's Response: Wow, that casino sounds fantastic. I love places like that.

Oh my. Jessie is quite the one for sensations. I don't think this woman would be able to settle for one man.

Author's Response: No, she is very much a 'free spirit', though she has genuine love for Vyvyan.

Yes, as you know I read this last night. So what do I dream about…Jessie and her cold inspector of course. LOL

This was an interesting scene though, and it was so written beautifully. (I am always so impressed and jealous of your writing skills) It’s almost too menacing to be completely titillating though. Jessie knows nothing of these people and I keep thinking about Polly and Anne. There is definitely a dark side flowing through your story that keeps giving me the jitters. I was so relieved to know Vyvyan was in the next room. I’m actually quite relieved to hear there is happy ending for all your three women. I would be horrified though if something bad happened to Vyvyan. I think he’s such a sweetie and I keep remembering what you did to sweetie Lupin.

Speaking of Vyvyan, I wonder how will he felt about having walked in on Jessie while she was in a compromising position with her client. I get the feeling this may put a damper in their relationship. Personally I don’t think Jessie should take the job. It sounds scary. She should stick to what she’s comfortable with, no matter how erotically arousing or financially uplifting it may be. Lol

Lovely chapter though! I just think all your delectable descriptions are wonderful. I had to look up and see what a chintz armchair was. Lol
I am definitely looking forward to your next post. :D

Author's Response: I want a dream like that! Yes, this situation is going to be very hard for Vyvyan to deal with.

Oh my word.....What's Jessie in for now. Dirty old man alert.
And Florence ? Is Alex a good digger perhaps?

Author's Response: Good question.....

Wow, the plot thickens even more. I can't wait to read more. Hint, hint.

Author's Response: Glad this is tickling your fancy, Pitt!

The woman who is going to be sliced up for the gentleman's pleasure is headed for disaster. I am wondering if this "gentleman" is a killer. I am surprised Alex went to church to encounter Florence. How brave. The whole pursuit will seem naughty and therefore quite appealing. Jessie seems to be both protective and jealous of Alex's interest in Florence. Vyvyan seems to love Jessie so much he is willing to let her do just about anything to make her happy, although some dalliances appear to be about artist license.

Author's Response: Yes, the 'gentleman' is a very dodgy character.

Again you make me cringe, mentioning Annie. It’s really hard to explain the chill that goes up my spine. Yikes!

But now we are moving on to happy things. Like Florence’s schoolgirl like crush on Alex. I have to say, I am suspicious of his motives. I think you do a wonderful job of making Florence a rather silly young girl. She’s so naïve, thinking she’s so sophisticated when really she isn’t that at all. I always laugh when I think of Lord Hunter-Fox closing in on her. She’s in for a big surprise isn’t she?

In contrast though, Jesse and Vyvyan are so easy going with each other. They are like friends who are lovers. I am worried about what might happen to Jesse though when she goes to meet that new client. I am glad Vyvyan is going to go with her.

Anyway, intriguing chapter. Keep up the wonderful work!!

I have to ask you though, does the Thames ever really freeze over like that? I bet it creates the biggest mess.

Author's Response: I think the last time the Thames froze over properly was 1814 - they made some changes to the embankments & suchlike which meant it couldn't really happen again. I wish it would though...

Why would such an uptight bastard want such a willful woman? I suppose she excites his senses despite himself. Poor Molly, being used in such a way. Many stories depict maids and servants as being taken advantage of in sexual ways, but I never researched it to see if this was indeed the case historically.

Author's Response: I'm afraid it was rather common. And poor Lord H-F is indeed quite obsessed with Florence, precisely because she is so wilful.

I never really thought about how artists achieved the expression of being satiated on their subjects faces. You present a very plausible explanation.

Nice try Sir Rupert. And Molly, you silly little twit.

oooooooh poor Molly. At Rupert's mercy now and Florence is going to have a fight on her hands with Lord H-F.

Author's Response: She certainly is! And I'm afraid Molly has not made the smart move here :(.
